Party!

Last night Jessica, Lili, Hanna, and I went to a guy named Nikki´s 19th birthday at Massimo´s Bar. Stayed there till about midnight playing pool, talking and smoking a few. We met two guys from New York who were on vacation and leaving the next morning, and pretty much just hung with them till it was time to go. They hitched a ride with us back to there hotel. And, exciting news, it RAINED! Well, twice for about five minutes, but it was still super exciting! I also met a new friend. A stick bug that Chicho handed over to me and then later pulled the leg off of in an attempt to get it off me... oops. (He didn´t seem to mind all that much though) Only one more day and then we head back to Alejuela for a night. It´s almost over :(

Three Days Left

Hey everybody... how is it going? It´s still lovely here, minus the bug bites and sunburn. Today we went on a kayak trip on the ocean. Two people to a boat, paddling for about 5km. Super fun. We saw a turtle poking his head out of the water. We stopped on an island close to Samara and played with the ocean and hermit crabs for a few hours. The beach was white sand... oooohh. Brynn I forgot to tell you that there is a guitar here. It´s about half the size of a regular one but it works. I almost have I´d Rather Be With You down. See you in a few days.

Oops... forgot something

Yesterday, we woke up at 7am and drove down to Camaronal and watched Tad surf. There´s a turtle reserve on that beach and there are eggs fenced in so they don´t get hurt... A guy we met on the beach happens to work/volunteer there so he went and checked if there were any new babies. Well, there were, 5 in fact, and we got to release them into the water. Tres cool! Ya, i forgot to say that on the last one so there it is. Oh and Jenna, I hope you are having tons of fun in Disneyland!

still in Costa Rica

It´s still super hot here... sorry about the snow hahaha. Yesterday we got to go to a local soccer game in Carillo. My shoulders and nose and ears are peeling. We went on a kayak tour down a river that opens into the ocean...very cool, but the kayaks aren´t like the ones that you are inside. These ones, you sat inside but it was more like a really shallow canoe. We got to feed a crocodile a fish on a string in the creek by the ocean too. The kids here are going on a school break this week so everything and every beach is going to be packed, right now there´s only a few people on the beach at any given time. Alright, talk to you all later.

Popo´s Treehouses and Surf School

We are still in Costa Rica... everything is awesome, i forgot how good local casado´s are! Ya, so the food here is amazing and our beach looks like one of those postcards that you laugh at because there´s no way it could be real. Right now i am more of a lobster than a megan, as i burned the first day on my shoulders and chest, and now my face and ears are beet red aswell. Ouch... We found an internet cafe in Carillo where we are staying. Carillo is about 15mins away from Samara, another little town, but bigger than Carillo. Today we are going on a kayak tour thing with the hotel owner Tad, i´m pretty pumped. His daughter is really nice, she´s also 15 and her name is Shannon. Her little brother´s name is Francis (3 years old) but they call him Noni. He´s so cute. Anyway, my time´s almost up so i gotta split.

We're here!

WE ARE IN COSTA RICA!!! Our second flight from dallas to miami was delayed an hour because of the wind but we made it here around 10:30-11:00. The place we're staying is amazing, it's called Hotel La Rosa De America, there's a pool and breakfast and it's just awesome. Everything is damp already and my freckles are already showing more! YAY! Today we are leaving Hallejulah in a van to Samara. A four hour drive so that's not too bad. I'm so excited.

Alright, we made it to Dallas Texas safely, with pretty heavy turbulance on the way though. We found a free 20-minute internet thing so that's pretty sweet. Our next flight is 2hrs and 45mins to Miami and then from there we are headed to San Jose. Super Excited!!!

P.S. Jenna i found a lot of texas magnets but i didn't think any of them were worthy of your magnet wall so i am holding out for a sweeter one.
